Recipe: Honey Cheese Arepas

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup P.A.N. arepas flour

Instructions

Step 1

Add 1/2 teaspoon salt,
3/4 cup milk,
and 1/4 cup softened cream cheese in a bowl. Mix well.

Step 2

Add 1 tsp sugar and 1 cup P.A.N. arepas flour in the bowl. Mix well. Divide it into 4, roll each quarter into a ball. Then use your wet hands to shape each into a patty, the thickness is about as a finger.
Note: You don't need to sape first! You can just put dough balls in an press. Not as smooh-edged, but much faster.

Step 3

Spray a little olive oil on the arepas maker, place the dough in. Turn on the machine and cook for 5 minutes. Turn them over, and cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 4

To serve, split the Patty, add a slice of cheese on it, drizzle some honey or maple syrups on it. Enjoy!
