Recipe: Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts
  • 1/2 pound Cipollini or pearl onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt and fresh ground black pepper

Instructions

Step 1

Cut off the end of Brussels sprout, then cut it into half. Cut a slide in the thick end. Cut off the top of the Cipollini or pearl onion.

Step 2

Bring a pot of water into a boil. Add some salt in it. Dump in the Brussels sprouts, boil 2 minutes. Transfer into colder water.

Step 3

In the same boiling water, dump in the Cipollini or pearl onions, boil 10 minutes.

Step 4

Put a heavy duty pan on medium heat, add 2 tablespoons butter. When the butter is melted, dump in the brussels sprouts and the onions. Add a big pinch of salt and pepper. Give it a stir.

Step 5

Cook in an oven at 450F for 15-20 minutes.
